World Clown Association Past President Jack Anderson has passed
Former W.C.A. President Jack Anderson went home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2016. He performed all over the U.S. as Freckles the Clown. This very funny and talented gentleman attended many World Clown Conventions and those who saw him at Clown Camp Cannot forget his amazing tribute to Elvis. He started Freckles Clown Supplies to help clowns find quality products.
He held the office of President in three major clown organizations; The International Shrine Clown Association, the Clowns of America International and also in our World Clown Association.
He served in the U.S. Navel Reserves from 1953-1962 and worked in the Jacksonville Florida Sheriff’s Office for 27 years. As a clown he did shows for birthday parties and Mall grand openings as well as many parades across the U.S.
He taught many clowns and lectured at many conventions and clown schools. I recall he spoke about the first time he was a clown. Some fellows invited him to clown along in a parade. He did not know anything about clown make-up and so we went to the store and bought white shoe polish. He said, “It looked fine, but then it would not come off for a couple weeks.” I think this is one reason he was so devoted to teaching and sharing about clowning.
