Clown Summit 2020 In JAX

Join us on the day before WCA Convention begins right there at the Lexington Hotel!

A group of folks – most having years of experience in a clown field – who want to help current clowns in our culture to have positive impacts in their fields will be meeting at the WCA host hotel on the Saturday before the convention.  Some have termed this “Clown Summit” group to be like a collage of leaders, not replacing any clown organization, but more like a think tank…a “United Nations of Clowning” where leaders from various organizations talk about a collaborative effort to improve the atmosphere for clowns in North America.  The intent is not to replace or subvert any organization, but to join efforts in areas that are common group for performing clowns. This is not a specifically a WCA project, though many WCA members are participants.

The First CSNA Gathering Report

At Mooseburger Camp 2019, a group of dedicated and passionate individuals attended the first Clown Summit.  These individuals spent a week focusing on the positive and negative factors impacting the art and craft of clowning at this time.

They were able to create a mission statement, develop key objectives to move forward, and identify some action steps that clowns, and organizations can take right now to support the evolution of clowning.

MISSION STATEMENT:

To develop a collaborative effort to strengthen, support, enhance and advocate for the EVOLVING ancient and honorable art and craft of clowning in all of its forms.

Goals are:

To further develop a strategic plan to reinvigorate and advance the art of clowning.

To further develop teaching tools and talking points to enhance the evolution of clowning.

To open lines of communication between clown organizations, large and small, to increase cooperation and work toward a COMMON goal.

This original team has been tasked to light not only their own torch, but to invite others to be part of the team, and in turn, light the torch of those others as well.  This is not a closed group.
