GO TO WWW.WORLDCLOWN.COM—MEMBER’S FORUM—TODAY AND JOIN IN THE FUN!
This newsletter goes out each month to the WCA Alleys and to the WCA Regional Direc- tors from your contact on the Executive Board, The Alley Director. The purpose of that officer on the Board is to be the liaison every day with our individual members, giving them updates, motivation, education, and recreational ideas to keep WCA moving for- ward in our local areas.
THERE’S STILL TIME!
I have 3 really good submissions for Alley of the Year!
The deadline for you to send in your AOTY submission is January 31 so check out the
criteria, fill in what your alley has done in 2019, and send it in soon. I look forward to reading more about your fun in 2019 and hope all our WCA alleys are on track with plans for a super 2020!
It’s a new year and, by now, new officers should be installed in all our alleys. Please send your alley newsletter to the Regional Director over your area to let them know what is happening with your members. Send me a copy also and feel free to contact me any time with alley questions or ideas. Be sure to send in your Alley Update renewal for 2020 so you are an “ACTIVE ALLEY”.
BE THERE FOR THE BEST WEEK OF THE YEAR!
Regional Directors, reach out to every alley in your region and see if they need any help from WCA for planning and progress this year. Check out the WCA website for active alley contact information.
Remember, if your alley or even just a clown group in your area is having a clown class, WCA will donate an e-membership to each of your new clown grads. Just send a list to our Business Manager, Andrew Moler, to get that done.
VISION 2020
When you have your eyes checked out, you like to hear the doctor say you have 20/20 vision. It means you can see well and this is the year for us to have “2020 Vision” for the World Clown Association.
Your Executive Committee reviews and researches and plans and guides this association every day and we have a vision for 2020 that we would like to have all our officers and alleys get behind .
- Increase our membership—let’s plan some events and get others involved in the fun of clown- ing. If you love what you do and how you bring joy to others, share that with a friend, mentor, teach, and bring them into the art and love of clowning with you.
- Increase our Insurance Coverage of our members—Insurance is one thing you pay for and hope you never have to use but it is essential in our world today to
cover your clown career and also your clown hobby. Our WCA liability policy is tried and true and simply the BEST!
- Increase attendance at our Annual Convention—This year in Jacksonville is promising to be the best ever, from our headliners, Andy and Toty, plus Gina Allison, Leon McBryde, Nicole Portwood, and an amazing group of lecturers and performers, to all the extra fun Robin has put into place in parties and giveaways, and visits.
- Remember the day prior on Saturday, March 21, we have several all-day special events:
- A Face Painting Fun Shop with Whitney Meyers
- A Clown Summit of America meeting and ALL are invited to explore the future direction of clowning.
- A Jr. Joey all day workshop
SO PROMOTE THIS 2020 VISION TO YOUR REGION, YOUR ALLEYS, YOUR CLOWN FRIENDS, YOUR CONTACTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA, AND LET’S MAKE 2020 A
SUPER YEAR FOR THE ART OF CLOWNING AND WCA!

ARE YOU WORKING ON YOUR ALLEY OF THE YEAR SUBMISSION?
Do not be intimidated by alleys that are larger than you or alleys that have been with WCA for many
years. Each alley will be evaluated individually for their accomplishments and contributions to the art of clown- ing. We have a number of new, very active alleys this year, so be creative and show us what makes
your alley the best. Every application will be read and considered. Please DO NOT post photo albums, scrap- books, or video – only the application form. You may include some pictures, if you choose, with your application but these cannot be returned so don’t send Alley Scrapbooks or that kind of thing. You may support your appli- cation with emails that include relevant information and links that could help your application.
Please send your completed application only, which should include information pertaining to the items listed above. DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31. Anything received after January 31 will be returned unopened to you. Send it to WCA Alley Director, c/o WCA Business Office, 6164 Scherr Road Berrien Springs, MI 49103. Any questions, please email jb@jellybean-clown.com
