The World Clown Association is an educational organization teaching the art of clowning and supporting our members and clown groups, called alleys.  We are here to help clowns network, improve their skills, and provide opportunities to showcase the art of clowning around the world.

The World Clown Association is a group of thousands of professional and amateur clowns from 25 countries around the world that promote family-friendly clown entertainment.  We help perpetuate the traditional comedic flair that brings laughs around the world in all different types of venues.

We have clown members who perform in circus, stage, fairs, festivals, birthday parties, parades, hospitals, orphanages, street-performing (busking), churches, schools, educational assemblies, picnics, banquets, rodeos, senior centers and any other place where family fun is the entertainment focus.

We have Regional Directors who help oversee the various regions of the United States, Canada, and the world.  Our goal is to help make sure that as entertainers, our clowns are the most professional individuals that they can be.  The World Clown Association offers many different educational opportunities by some of the most talented and well-educated professionals anywhere in the world.  There is not a single aspect of clowning that the World Clown Association doesn’t cover through their magazine, Clowning Around,  and their annual conventions, including basic clown makeup, character development, costuming, magic, balloon artistry, skits, face painting, caring clown ministry, church clown ministry, and specialties such as ice skating or rodeo clowns.

Clown traditions and clown history is continually promoted in our magazine, Clowning Around, and opportunities are available for further training in clown arts through several scholarships given by the World Clown Association.
