The rest of the Mondays are filled with learning and
fun! We not only share our talents and skills with each
other, but we also bring in professional clowns from
around the States to teach us as well! We had 80 hours
of professional continuing education workshops this
year. We established a Rolling Library with hundreds
of books and magazines that our clowns can borrow
to learn about new things. We are busy all year long
participating in all The Villages parades, festivals, and
holiday events. In addition, we also are invited to take
part in events in Lady Lake, Wildwood and Ocala. As
The Villages sits in three counties, we are present in
all of them! We also go to nursing homes and assisted
living facilities, the hospital, schools, libraries, clubs
and fundraisers. We ring the bell for the Salvation
Army, from Thanksgiving through Christmas. In 2023
we performed over 897 hours of donated services to
our communities! During International Clown Week
we had ten different events to promote clowns, and
specifically our Alley. We also had an aftercare Junior
Joey program at The Villages Charter Elementary
School to encourage some future clowns! And this
year, we were once again named WCA’s Alley of the
Year for 2023!
