His widow wanted to donate these statues to WCA
and ship them at her expense! I Googled the artist and
discovered that he was well known for doing medi-
cal sculptures. The clowns that were being donat-
ed actually had a dental theme, how unusual. I told
the business manager that although the convention
chair, Louise Carnesale, was receiving packages for
the convention, I would take them. I felt she had been
burdened enough and agreed to let the statues come
to my home.
I can try to describe how I felt when I pulled into my
driveway, but a picture is worth a thousand words.
I hope it is included in this article. I never dreamed
that my entire driveway would be full of boxes! I had
to run to a U- haul and rent a truck and rent a storage
unit just to put them in. I had to make an extra un-
planned trip from Jacksonville to Orlando (approx 3
hours one way) In order to bring some to the auction.
When I returned from that run there
were even more in my driveway
